Sarah Plunkett has been blessed to have discovered her calling early in life. From an early age, she was interested in performing on stage. So, as a freshman at RUHS, she was involved in her first musical, but not as an actor, singer, or dancer. Much to her surprise, she was cast in the role as audio technician. This “lit a passion in me that I haven’t felt before.” Subsequently, for the next four years, she participated in tech crew in almost every show. Most impressively, as a freshman, she was hired as a Redondo School District employee entrusted to run professional events in the 1200-seat theater.

Sarah views working in technical entertainment as a melding of the arts while helping people realize their vision. She was nominated for the CETA Sound Design in recognition in sound performance as a sound designer in a Southern California high school musical production. She was on the RUHS Principal’s Honor Roll, and became an AP Scholar in 2019.

Sarah will attend CalPoly/San Luis Obispo beginning fall of 2021.
