Fields of Lavender

Fields of Lavender

Friends of Redondo Beach Arts supports the work of eight docents who travel monthly to the Richstone Center in Hawthorne to present Hands On Art projects for their K – 8 after school program.  Students learn art history and are able to experience a variety of art media.

This month’s project, Fields of Lavender,  was created by Jake Tedesco and inspired by the painting “White Frost” by artist Camille Pissaro (1830 – 1903).   Students created an impressionist landscape where they experienced  the mathematical properties behind perspective drawing.  They mixed colors on a palette and practiced different kinds of brushstrokes.

Below is a gallery of student work.
